Brains’ link with Glamorgan Cricket dates back to 1891 when Joseph H. Brain took over the captaincy of the Glamorgan cricket team. Joseph is credited as a leading light in the club’s early development when games were played in the field behind the old Cardiff Arms Hotel - the field that has since become famous all over the world as Cardiff Arms Park.
Two years later, William H. Brain achieved a wicket-keeping feat that has still never been equalled - three stumpings off consecutive balls in a first-class fixture.
Brains had been a sponsor of Glamorgan Cricket since 2001, including shirt sponsorship for several years. Brains is now the Official Beer of Glamorgan Cricket and available throughout the 16,000 seater SWALEC Stadium.
