Ingredients
Allow about 100g of cheese per person, and try to make the cheese a contrast to the one next to it – for example, Colliers Cheddar (one of the best cheddar cheeses on the market) Perl Las, a semi soft blue cheese with a rounded nutty finish, Perl Wen, a creamy Brie style cheese with a soft tang, and Pantysgawn goats cheese, creamy, rich and rounded.
150g of sticky fig and date chutney
Four to six oatcakes per person
Fresh fruit – sliced apples, grapes, pears
Clear honey is very popular on cheese boards, and works surprisingly well!
How To Make
Simply arrange your cheeses on a slate, a board or a large plate, and allow to reach room temperature before serving - cold cheese is like cold red wine – you can’t appreciate the depth of flavour of the cheeses.
This course has been matched with the famous Rev. James, and the beer and cheese combination works on the palate like peaches and cream!
The Rev. James is available nationally in Morrisons, Waitrose, Sainsbury's and Makro.
