The Cwm Talwg

The Cwm Talwg will reopen its doors on Wednesday 9th December. It opens with a new ‘Grills and More’ menu packed with a wide range of freshly prepared grills and pub classics, as well as a variety of quality beers and ciders, specially selected wines and soft drinks.

A team of more than 20 people from the local area have been employed to lead the new opening and provide an exceptional level of customer service with a warm, friendly welcome.

The £370,000 refurbishment comes almost 30 years to the day since Cardiff brewer, SA Brain, first opened the pub in January 1986. The new open-plan dining area replaces the two separate lounge bars, making a friendly atmosphere for all guests, while the large kitchen has been relocated downstairs to enable quick service to the whole restaurant.

Chris Ferriday, Head of Property at SA Brain, commented, "We are pushing the boundaries of interior design with every new opening and this is no exception. The transformation of this pub is astonishing. With a new outdoor space and the soft furnishings inside, the new Cwm Talwg boasts a warm and welcoming environment making every guest feel right at home."

Jeremy Webb, newly appointed manager of the Cwm Talwg, said: "The changes being made to the pub are substantial and will provide a great place to eat out. It will quickly become a place to bring everyone together at the heart of the local community."

"With an exciting range of food and drink offers available every day such as a free drink with a burger on Mondays, 25% off grills on Tuesdays and the famous ‘2 meals for £12’ offer from Monday to Friday, I’m sure we’ll be welcomed by everyone. We look forward to our guests enjoying our great range of drinks and extended menu and to welcoming them back to enjoy time and time again."

The new ‘Grills & More’ menu that sits at the centre of the Cwm Talwg’s offering features a full range of grills including Celtic Pride steaks and BBQ pork rib combos, a ‘Spice Corner’ featuring spicy burritos, generously portioned fajitas and a new Punjab chicken curry and traditional pub favourites, such as the classic beef lasagne and ever-popular beer-battered cod & chips.

Starters and sharers are available as a warm up to the main course for a group to enjoy and the large desserts section provides a choice of classics such as warm apple pie and double chocolate fudge cake, to more contemporary white chocolate and ginger cheesecake and a gluten free chocolate praline crunch tart.
