Wales’ biggest brewer, Brains, has today (1st April) launched the revolutionary ‘Pocket Pint’ – a beer that brews in the glass!
Developed by an expert team of scientists at Brains’ Cardiff Brewery, the Pocket Pint is a soluble tablet that once dropped into a glass of water brews into a perfect pint of the legendary SA ale.
The Pocket Pint – roughly the size of a 50p – allows drinkers to easily carry a four pack of the legendary Brains SA while on the go.
Brains head brewer Bill Dobson said: “Our brewers have been slogging away in the laboratory for months to come up with the flawless Pocket Pint.
“The Pocket Pint contains all of the ingredients which make-up our famous Brains SA and when combined with water our signature malts, hops and yeast come together to brew the perfect pint.
“This is going to revolutionise the beer market. Drinkers will be able to enjoy a pint of SA wherever they are in the world and Brains can now export our ale to every corner of the globe with ease.”
The Pocket Pint has been created in partnership with students from the University of South Wales.
USW student Lov-Lee Brew said: “It’s been great fun and a lot of hard work helping Brains come up with the Pocket Pint.
“For money-conscious students this is a great alternative to buying pints in a pub.”
The Pocket Pint launches in supermarkets across the UK on Saturday 1st April following a successful trial in the Welsh capital.
More than 80% of drinkers could not tell the difference between a Pocket Pint and a pint served from a traditional cask hand-pull in a pub.
Brains plans to roll out the Pocket Pint for the rest of its award-winning ales and full Brains Craft Brewery range before the end of 2017.
