A group of Brains employees are set to take on a gruelling Swansea-to-Cardiff bike ride to raise money for Tenovus Cancer Care.
Thirteen members of staff will complete the ‘Tour de Brains’ on Tuesday 18th July, starting at the Pump House pub in Swansea Marina and visiting Brains pubs including the Twelve Knights and Ty Nant before finishing at the Cardiff Brewery in the Welsh capital.
Almost £1,000 has already been raised by those taking part in the 51-mile challenge and it is hoped staff could raise £1,500 to donate to Tenovus.
Carys Burgess, Corporate Relationship Manager at Tenovus Cancer Care, commented: “This 51 mile sponsored cycle adds to the long list of fantastic challenges that the SA Brain team have organised and taken part in to support Tenovus Cancer Care over the last two years.
“Many of the team are not seasoned cyclists but they’re putting their pedal power to the test today and we can’t thank them enough. The money they raise will help us support cancer patients and their loved ones when they need us most, in communities across Wales.
“We thoroughly enjoy working alongside the SA Brain family and they never fail to disappoint with their enthusiasm towards challenges like this cycle!”
Brains staff and customers have raised more than £100,000 in the two years since working with Tenovus Cancer Care as their charity partner.
