Beautiful beaches

The Penwig’s seafront location in the small village of New Quay provides superb views across the bay, where dolphins can occasionally be seen jumping and playing.

Perched on the hills above Cardigan Bay, New Quay is famous for its picture-book harbour, beaches and narrow terraced streets. The sheltered harbour and safe beaches are perfect for sailing, fishing, water sports and relaxation. Other attractions in the area include the abundance of nature and wildlife, with sightings of dolphins reasonably common, but also whales and seals if you know where to look for them!

Our popular menu offers a vast variety of grills and pub classics which go perfectly with our fine cask ales and delicious wines and there’s nowhere better to enjoy them than on our patio overlooking the bay.

We are also proud to offer a fantastic range of function and event packages to cater for all occasions. From formal, three course sit-down meals with arrival drinks, to an evening buffet with accompanying entertainment, we would love you to see what we have to offer.

For your no-obligation appointment with our special events coordinator, contact us on 01545 560910 or email penwig@sabrain.com

CASK MARQUE ACCREDITED

The Cask Marque Award is an accreditation which guarantees guests the perfect pint of cask ale, every time. All the cask ales on sale are tested twice a year by a qualified assessor for temperature, appearance, aroma and taste and every beer must reach the required standard in order for the licensee to pass the inspection. Mystery visits may be carried out at any time and feedback is invited from the public.

Cask Marque is an independent, non-profit making organisation formed in 1998 with the aim of improving beer quality in British pubs through the accreditation scheme, training courses on cellar management and the setting of industry standards through a series of beer quality charters, including cellar management, glass-cleanliness and line cleaning.

Over 10,000 pubs hold the Award and each one participates in the ‘World’s Biggest Ale Trail’. This allows drinkers to scan the Cask Marque certificates in the pubs using their phone and the more scans they make, the more prizes they win. Download the CaskFinder App to join the fun!
