Nestled at the heart of Nottage village, The Rose and Crown is housed within a beautiful, traditional stone built inn which is perfect for a cosy meal by the fire, or a glass of wine in the sun. Enjoy a pint of Brains in the large enclosed beer garden in the summer, or savour a delicious traditional roast by the fire in winter – ‘The Rose’ is the perfect pub for all seasons. With a bar packed full of cask ales, fine wines and an extensive range of spirits and soft drinks there’s a tipple for everyone.

Our menu similarly is bursting with flavour, and we’re proud to use Welsh suppliers wherever possible, allowing us to focus on serving inspirational pub food.  So, whether you prefer an intimate meal for two, or a lively night out with friends, the Rose and Crown has it covered.

You’ll enjoy stunning views of the village green and beyond, as you relax in our rooms which have been furnished with comfort in mind.  Luxury beds, well-appointed bathrooms and rooms packed full of the charm and character you would expect of a historic village Inn, means a top night’s sleep is never far away at the Rose!

Golfer's Paradise

Well known for being situated near some of the best golf courses in the world, if you’re a keen golfer then we are the perfect place to stay after a long day on the green.

Royal Porthcawl
Described as being one of the twelve finest courses in the world by the late Tom Scott, it remains firmly among the world's top golf courses. The course has a magnificent setting sloping down to the seashore with stunning views south to Somerset and Exmoor, and Northwest across Swansea Bay.

Pyle and Kenfig
Pyle and Kenfig Golf Course was established in 1922, and is affectionately known as ‘P & K’ with its lofty sand dunes hugging the South Wales coast of Porthcawl.  Glorious views and historic associations adorn this undulating course with its natural hazard of hillocks, valleys and towering dunes.

Southerndown Golf Club
Southerndown is a hidden gem, unique in offering part sandy links and part acid-heathland. Offering all-year-round golf, they are the nearest championship links-style course to the Celtic Manor resort.

As well as being a golfer’s paradise, we are also situated only 10 minutes’ walk away from the beautiful South Wales coastline and Blue Flag beaches, perfect for a stroll after a hearty Welsh breakfast.

The Cask Marque Award is an accreditation which guarantees guests the perfect pint of cask ale, every time. All the cask ales on sale are tested twice a year by a qualified assessor for temperature, appearance, aroma and taste and every beer must reach the required standard in order for the licensee to pass the inspection. Mystery visits may be carried out at any time and feedback is invited from the public.

Cask Marque is an independent, non-profit making organisation formed in 1998 with the aim of improving beer quality in British pubs through the accreditation scheme, training courses on cellar management and the setting of industry standards through a series of beer quality charters, including cellar management, glass-cleanliness and line cleaning.

Over 10,000 pubs hold the Award and each one participates in the ‘World’s Biggest Ale Trail’. This allows drinkers to scan the Cask Marque certificates in the pubs using their phone and the more scans they make, the more prizes they win. Download the CaskFinder App to join the fun!
