What we’re looking for:
Our pubs and restaurants are all different. But they have one thing in common and that’s always delivering the best service and food to our guests. Our Sous Chefs play a key role in this. We’re looking for both passion and experience. Our Sous Chefs know how to cook. They also love showing the rest of the team how to do the same with encouragement and support.
We want someone who has experience of working in a busy kitchen and everything this brings with it. You’ll need to be able to lead by example, working closely with your team to deliver our promise to our customers.
Being a Sous Chef at Brains means you are someone who works closely with everyone, developing a sense of teamwork and fun in our kitchens by always leading by example. Our Sous Chefs are our rising stars who learn from our Head Chefs and Kitchen Managers, developing their careers whilst we give you all the tools you need to shine.
Working closely with and supporting the Head Chef our Sous Chefs help create an environment for our Chefs to develop and learn.  At Brains every person in our business is equally important.  You’ll enjoy the responsibility your role brings. It goes without saying how important food hygiene and safety are to our business. Working with our Kitchen Managers you will live and breathe this to make sure our customer experience is the very best possible day and night and our kitchens are always safe and hygienic.
Heading up the team and running the kitchen when the Head Chef is away means you will have every opportunity to shine. You will be involved in and learn all aspects of running a commercial kitchen working to GP targets. Working well under pressure should come naturally to you as should the desire to develop your career to be one of our future Kitchen Managers.
Lots of time is taken to perfect our recipes and to locally source our ingredients which take pride of place on our menus.  We need our Sous Chefs to lead by example ensuring every plate leaves their kitchen meeting our high standards.  You’ll show just how much pride and care has gone into it.
