Assistant Management Accountant

South Wales - Full Time

We’re looking for a brilliant new addition to our team. We want someone to join us here in our Brains Support Centre who understands how important customer service is to us. We are looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to join our finance team. The Assistant Management Accountant must have a proactive, positive approach to work, as well as great attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines.

The main duties of the role will involve assisting the management accountants in the delivery of financial information and advice to budget holders.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the production and reporting of cyclical data and financial analysis
  • Assist in the production of monthly forecast using both annual and monthly profit & loss accounts
  • To assist in budget setting and to maintain these budgets on the appropriate financial systems
  • Approving invoices of an appropriate value for payment and reconcile in a timely manner balance sheet codes used in the Management Accounting function
  • Be aware of and comply with all Health and Safety roles and responsibilities applicable to their role as outlined in the overarching Health and Safety Policy and departmental manual
  • Operational efficiency and effectiveness
  • Promotions and events pre and post analysis
  • Product/menu development and performance
  • Cost, price and margin analysis
  • Investment appraisal and post audit analysis
  • Promotional modelling and performance
  • Sales, margin and payroll performance
  • Digital development and performance
  • Supporting the year end process and the production of the annual accounts
  • To contribute/ help implement improvements and changes to financial reporting processes and tools
  • Assist in the analysis and advice to the business managers and operations managers on data trends and patterns to influence focus to drive top line sales
  • Annual budget review
  • On-going review and development of data and accounting systems
  • Investment planning and variance reporting and analysis

 

Skills and Experience

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA (studying) or QBE
  • Experience in a finance department in the FMCG sector
  • Experience of presenting work to key stakeholders
  • Positive and proactive approach to personal development
  • Works positively with others
  • Determination to deliver work on time and to specification

£20,000 - £25,000 (Depending on Experience)
